Mission Team to Ecuador
June 18-27, 2005, our church sent a 26-member team on the church’s first international mission trip to Quito, Ecuador.

Habitat for Humanity
In partnership with Habitat for Humanity, Concord United Methodist Church members have built eight houses since 1999. Each year, the United Methodist Men host a golf tournament in August to raise money to help pay for the cost of sponsoring our Habitat home for the following year.

Visit the Concord Habitat for Humanity Webpage.

Prison Van Ministry
The second Saturday of each month, our church transports family and friends of those in the Nashville prisons from Knoxville to Nashville for visitation with their loved ones. For over 20 years, church members have been volunteering their time to drive the van and support this mission.

Morgan-Scott Project
For several decades now, Concord UMC has collected and delivered necessary items to the underprivileged in Morgan and Scott Counties, two of the most economically-deprived counties in our region. In addition to monetary contributions, items such things as clothing, toys, and household goods are collected in Room 135 at the church.

Good Samaritan
In keeping with its tradition to serve in His name, the Good Samaritan Fund helps to meet the emergency needs of individuals within our congregation and local community. This fund helps individuals with true need to pay for such things as rent, utilities, gas, food, shelter, and medicine.

Meals at the Volunteer Ministry Center
Each Wednesday along with the first Saturday of every month, members of our congregation volunteer their time to serve breakfast to the homeless at the Volunteer Ministry Center in downtown Knoxville. Every third Thursday, our youth prepare and serve dinner to the homeless.

Volunteer Ministry Dental Clinic
Initiated by a dentist and his wife who are members of our congregation, the Volunteer Ministry Dental Clinic provides on-site dental services to those who cannot afford them. In addition to monetary contributions, volunteers from our church help staff the clinic one day a week.

Holiday Gift Baskets
Each year at Thanksgiving and then again at Christmas, holiday baskets filled with canned goods and grocery money are given to the poor in our community that are identified through the local school system. The congregation gives generously of food items, time, and money to this outreach project.

The Spot
Meals and a listening ear are provided to people who are transients at Concord Mennonite Church on Mondays. We also provide clothing, personal hygene items, reading material, and a respectful, caring environment for these homeless people to rest.

We have a coffe/tea tasting in the fellowship hall on Sundays about five times each year and have the products available for sale in Elaine Wynn's office throughout the year. Money from this project goes to UMCOR to help support the many relief efforts in which they engage.

Various Sunday School classes, the United Methodist Youth Fellowship, United Methodist Men, and United Methodist Women also participate in and sponsor special outreach and mission ministries throughout the year.
